This energetic and exceptionally well-cast teen comedy begins in the fall of 1978 in Cleveland, where four fanatical young KISS fans are determined to attend a KISS concert in Detroit.
Their devotion quickly turns into a culture war, as the boys do battle with older and younger generations who have their own musical addictions. For some, it’s the Carpenters. For others, it’s disco. And there’s no middle ground between “KISS rocks” and “Disco rules.”
One of the KISS fans, Jam (Sam Huntington), has an uptight mother (Lin Shaye) who believes that Kiss really stands for Knights in Satan’s Service. One night, with a look of deep contentment on her scrunched-up face, she sits down to chain-smoke, sip a drink, read her Erma Bombeck book and play a Carpenters record. Read the rest of this entry »

Patton
Drama War 1970
General George Patton was a brilliant student of military history, a master tactician, and an arrogant, foulmouthed bastard; in this Best Picture Academy Award winner, George C. Scott brings this extraordinary man to life in a charming, infuriating, Oscar-winning performance that fills the screen as few have. Best Director winner Franklin Schaffner’s [...]
